Massages To Heal

Neck Pain

Neck massages are a great way to relax tight muscles, release the tissue between your muscles and bones (the fascia), and to gently nudge your spine back into place. Here's a guide to choosing the best type of massage for you.

What is the best type of massage for my neck pain?

My neck is really tight and tense

I sprained or strained my neck

I've got a bulging/ herniated disc in my neck

My neck is cramping or spasming and it's really sore

I injured my neck whilst exercising

A sports Massage will work well

I get pain in my neck when I do certain movements

My neck is sore from hugging my baby and breastfeeding

I have a hunched posture and it hurts when I walk or sit

A Remedial Massage or Myotherapy will help

If you don't know what you need, don't worry! Your masseuse knows what to do, and she can combine lots of different therapies depending on your body's needs.

Because backs are so flexible, they're also quite prone to injury. Make sure that you use RICE (Rest Ice Compression Elevation) in the first 3 days of injury (or whatever is recommended by your health professional) before getting a massage for your back.
